District Nurses and Health Visitors are Registered General Nurses with additional qualifications to enable them to assess and plan the care of patients in the community. They advise on all aspects of health promotion, support both patients and carers, and mobilise any resources that may be required. The Community Midwife runs the ante-natal clinics at the surgery and will also provide care at home for mothers before and after having their babies.
